Surplus Sale Deals!

The local Housing Authority is having a Surplus Sale today.  Mostly, it's old junk, but you never know what you'll find.  It seems like there's always some kind of treasure just waiting to be unearthed.

Autumn at the Housing Authority

At the last Housing Authority sale, I got a whole bunch of industrial size cupcake tins.  One tin cooks 48 cupcakes at a time!  They also had some really pretty vintage milk glass planters.  I got one and repurposed it as as crock for kitchen utensils.  Super cute!

Love these chairs.  Orange is one of my fave colors, and so retro-cool.  One gentleman bought all of them to send on a cargo container to Africa.  He looks for these kinds of deals and fills containers to send to those in need.  It's nice to know they'll be used again, instead of heading to the landfill.

The big excitement at the sale today -- guitars!!  They had a whole tray of straps.  Such pretty patterns.

Erik really wants to learn to play.  They started the day with about 8 guitars.  At the end of the day, there was one left -- this one.  I played "Let's Make A Deal" and snagged it for $50!!  Woohoo!

Erik's excited about his new toy, and me, well I'm always excited to get a good deal.  :)
